Fence Gate Lodge
Hotel Receptionist
We require a hotel receptionist who is enthusiastic, guest orientated and an expert task juggler. As the first member of Fence Gate Lodge to welcome our guests its important you make a big impression and get our customers excited about their stay, whether showing off the hotel with a guided tour or remembering Mrs Smith’s passion for afternoon tea.
It doesn’t matter if they’re returning or first time guests, you’ll charm them from the initial welcome to ‘have a safe journey home’ with your impeccable standards of service. Striving to know what someone needs before they even know it themselves, leaving them impressed, reassured and most importantly feeling at home.
Who are you?
He or she is eager to learn and has a passion for working in a AA 5 star gold property . You are passionate about making guests feel at home and will develop knowledge of our hotel products and services. You’ll take pride in your appearance as the face of Fence Gate Lodge.
Further more you will have
- Previous experience in a similar environment and role, but not essential as training will be given
- Easily relate to people

- Flexible on shifts
- Living in or around Lancashire
We have room for full//part time/job share colleagues.
Shifts: Shifts are organised according to a rota on a 25-40 week normally working 4 to 5 days out of 7, including weekends, bank holidays, night shifts and Christmas.
Fence Gate Lodge
Night Porter – Part time (2 nights on rota)
We’ve created a fantastic role for a Night Porter to join the Front of House team.
Providing a friendly, efficient service and a lasting impression to all guests throughout the evening from security, room service, serving beverages, reservations, setting up function rooms and sprucing up the place ready for the start of a new day.
Who are you?
Smart, customer focused, strong communication skills and be highly organised. Enjoy working throughout the evening and having the responsibility of taking care of the hotel and our guests. A passion for security and safety, keeping our site secure from guest luggage to hotel property. Further more you will have

We have room for two to three nights a week. from 10.50pm -7am. Full /part time
General Manager
Are you a Restaurant General Manager or Assistant Manager who is looking to join this fast paced, fun and exciting Restaurant/Bar/Function room in the Ribble Valley area?
This rewarding and demanding environment requires a driven and hands on General Manager who is looking for a new challenge within one of the most beautiful properties around.
Requirements
- Good attitude to represent the brand
- Drive and enthusiasm to succeed
- The ability to work well under pressure
- Experience in a customer facing role ideally as a manager
- Real ale knowledge
- Function and banqueting experience
- Maintaining high levels of service and leading a team across the Restaurant and Bar
- You will have full accountability for your operational and financial results
The person
- Needs to be polished, enthusiastic and work to high standards
- You will come from a busy Bar/Restaurant
- Must have worked in function led environment
- Work in a professional yet friendly manner
- Be a team player and assist where required
- Have good communication skills and be able to liaise with the team
- Must have worked in a senior hospitality role for at least 2 years

Chef de Partie
We are looking for a talented Chef de Partie to join our team. The Eagle at Barrow is a Restaurant set in the beautiful Ribble Valley with a busy Brasserie and Bar, a sizeable functions room and quality on site butchers attached. This is a fantastic opportunity to join this expanding business.
Main responsibilities
- To work under the sous chef, run the day to day operation and control procedures of the kitchen and all the food operations at all times, whilst complying with company standards and policies.
- To ensure the overall management of the food operation including set up and break down and operation of these areas.
- Support not just the sous chef, but the entire kitchen team.
- Suggest ideas and build menus with the head chef utilising the freshest and most seasonal ingredients, including using products from our very own butchers shop on site (Berkin’s Deli).
- The ideal Chef de Partie will need to have at least 2 years previous experience as a CDP or Commis Chef within in a similar style restaurant. You must have passion, ideas, good leadership qualities and keen eye for detail.

Waiting On & Bar Servers
We’re on the look out for waiters, waitresses and bar staff, who have a passion for customer service. We will provide a friendly work environment where no two days are the same, whether that be providing our guests with beverages, lunch or dinner, to proving service for conference and banqueting events in our onsite function room. Hospitality experience is helpful, but not essential as all training will be providing when you start.

Able to work mornings, you will be responsible for ensuring the pub is immaculate. You will be the last to look at the pub before it opens to our customers and therefore a pride in your work and awareness of how much the small things matter are key. You will always be striving to create a clean, relaxed and inviting atmosphere for our customers. We’re currently looking for friendly and conscientious person who will take pride in helping to keep our beautiful pub looking clean and in great condition.

Sales & Wedding Planner
As our Wedding Planner, you will be the wedding ambassador for Fence Gate & Fence Gate Lodge, being absolutely obsessed with weddings. From handling the initial enquiry, to conducting viewings and planning and coordinating the details of the day, you will be sales driven, highly motivated with impeccable attention to detail and a creative flair.
Who are you?
Ideally experienced working in an event position or busy sales environment with great administration and customer service skills. However, event graduates with a 1st class degree in event management will be considered, as job training will be given.

- Commercially aware
- Excellent communicator, both verbally and written
